yanchep rail added to high priority list

Our northern suburbs are expanding at a rapid rate - population is expected to more than double by 2050. Better roads and public transport are absolutely critical.

That’s why we’re delivering for our community with the train line to Yanchep and Mitchell Freeway extension to Romeo Road - so you spend less time in traffic and more time doing the things you want to do.

Infrastructure Australia has put Yanchep Rail on their High Priority List.

The Yanchep Rail Line will cut travel times and get you home to your family faster.

Yanchep rail

Construction on Yanchep Rail is expected to start in 2019 with stations at Alkimos, Eglinton and Yanchep - easing congestion, improving road safety and saving us all time every day.

Our community has long been fighting for this critical project. As a resident of Yanchep, I see the incredible expansion in our northern suburbs, and know how important it is we have the necessary road and rail infrastructure.

It's disappointing that WA Labor have taken so long to submit a final business case to Infrastructure Australia, but it appears Yanchep Rail is finally moving ahead. Thank you to the almost 1,200 people who signed the petition calling on WA Labor to submit their final business case.

The Liberal Government has provided $350 million toward the Yanchep Rail Line, with completion expected by 2021.
