Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, has encouraged local small and family businesses to apply for the Liberal Government’s Digital Champions program valued at up to $20,000.

The Digital Champions program will see 100 small and family businesses from a diverse range of sectors across Australia receive funding for digital transformation, enabling them access to the tools necessary to help them thrive in their particular field.

Mr Porter said, “Small and family businesses are the engine room of the economy and the lifeblood of our community. For these businesses, digital technology is the key to unlocking immense opportunities.

“Through the Liberal Government’s Digital Champions program, businesses will be able to unlock the potential of this technology to revolutionise their business and extend their reach.”

Of these 100 businesses, 15 will be selected to become Digital Champions. These Digital Champions will each be paired with a high-profile small business leader to mentor them, providing individualised advice to guide them on their digital transformation journey.

“I encourage all local small and family businesses to apply for this program so that they may realise their full potential,” Mr Porter said.

Applications for the Digital Champions program are now open and will close on Monday 4 February 2019. To apply, or for more information, visit: www.jobs.gov.au/digital-champions.
