Porter delivers first promise

Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, has delivered on an election commitment to get a tattoo. Mr Porter said he made the promise to his supporters to get a tattoo should Pearce remain in Liberal hands with an increased majority.

“It’s very important that when you make an election promise, you stick to it, even if keeping it was a little more painful than you realised,” Mr Porter said.

On the tattoo itself, Mr Porter said that while he had never thought about getting a tattoo, the design was really simple to come up with – choosing the X-Wing Starfighter from Star Wars.

“Firstly, for Star Wars fans the X-Wing is the symbol of prevailing against the adversity of what appear to be overwhelming odds,” Mr Porter said.

“Secondly, I am and always will be a massive Star Wars fanboy.”

Mr Porter said that now the tattoo was done and dusted, the hard work of delivering on a number of important commitments in his local community was in full swing.

“At a national level we will work to provide tax relief for hard-working Australians and locally we will turn to the delivery phase of a number of critical local projects.

“$25 million for the Ellenbrook Pool, $5 million for the North Butler District Open Space, Ellenbrook and Yanchep Rail, kick-starting work on the North Coast Pool and the Mitchell Freeway extension and widening are just a few of the projects we will be working hard on,” Mr Porter said.
