Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, has encouraged local teachers, students and families to take advantage of free online learning resources this school year.
Mr Porter said the Digital Technologies Hub website was filled with relevant and up-to-date resources on digital technologies, including lesson plans and activities.
“The Federal Liberal Government has invested $2.7 million to develop and maintain resources on digital technologies for the hub,” Mr Porter said.
“The hub can be used by teachers as part of lesson planning, students who want to explore an interest in all things digital and parents who want to play a more active role in their child’s education.
“The hub is directly aligned with the Australian Digital Technologies curriculum, and includes topics like coding and artificial intelligence.
“This online hub will ensure our teachers and students have the support they need to build their understanding and capability in this important area.
“I encourage teachers, students and families in Pearce to join more than 250,000 unique users of the hub and access the latest information about digital technologies.”
A 2018 evaluation found that teachers value the Digital Technologies Hub as a source of high quality new ideas.
A recent addition to the hub has been inclusive education resources for students with disability, and gifted and talented students.
