Local Governments in the electorate of Pearce are set to benefit from over $24 million in funding under the Liberal Government’s Financial Assistance Grant program this financial year.
Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, has welcomed the substantial commitment, which is part of $2.4 billion in funding being provided to local governments in 2018-19.
“This funding can be used to help local governments deliver the services and facilities their communities need,” Mr Porter said.
“Importantly, councils are free to spend this funding according to local priorities, including infrastructure, health, recreation and environment projects.
“This funding delivers tangible benefit to our local communities in the areas it is most needed.”
The first quarterly payment for 2018-19 of $3,128,874 has already been made to the local councils in Pearce.
Local Governments in Pearce will receive the following Financial Assistance Grant funding:

Shire of Chittering - $1,257,433
Shire of Gingin - $1,750,078
Shire of Northam - $3,380,980
Shire of Toodyay - $1,940,649

“I am looking forward to seeing our local councils target local priorities with this funding, along with additional funding provided by the Government under the Roads to Recovery, Black Spot and Bridges Renewal programs,” Mr Porter said.
