Foreign Minister, Julie Bishop, MHR Christian Porter, Founder, Caroline Thompson at Girls Without Limits
Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter recently invited Minister for Foreign Affairs, Julie Bishop to visit Girls Without Limits and meet with Founder, Caroline Thompson, her team and some of the young ladies who attend.
Girls Without Limits, a community organisation in Ellenbrook, aims to provide young girls with a supportive positive environment and the tools to help them achieve their true potential.
“Girls Without Limits is a great place for young girls in and around Ellenbrook to become engaged and active in their community and build their self-confidence,” Mr Porter said.
“A programme designed to empower young women must provide powerful, positive role models. I was pleased that I could arrange for the Foreign Affairs Minister, Julie Bishop to visit and speak with the group – role models don’t get much better than this,” Mr Porter said.
Founder, Caroline Thompson said that Girls Without Limits is an environment providing young women with a mixture of physical activity and art and craft so that they can develop a positive mindset.
“By giving these girls these tools we are empowering them to be able to stand up and face some of today’s challenges and build their self-confidence and resilience,” Ms Thompson said.
Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Hon Julie Bishop MP, said that in this day and age of social media and the on-line environment it is important that young women have self-confidence, belief in themselves and don’t let others define who they are or what they can achieve.
“It is wonderful that Girls Without Limits is focussing on girls and empowering young girls because empowered girls become empowered young women,” Minister Bishop said.
