Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, said that NorthLink WA will provide an incredibly important link for the local community but more critical infrastructure is needed.
“NorthLink WA is already well underway – a freeway that’ll connect our community to the city,” Mr Porter said.
“I’m very proud of funding infrastructure like NorthLink WA. Not only does it support jobs in our community, but it’ll get us home to our families 20 minutes faster.
“But we can’t stop there – to truly link our communities we need to make sure Ellenbrook Rail is fully funded.”
After WA Labor failed to provide any construction money for Ellenbrook Rail in their 2017 budget, Mr Porter said he had been working hard to make sure those living in the local community don’t miss out.
“It’s critical that we work hard to provide our local community the same job and education opportunities as those people who live in the city – that’s why the funding is so important.
“It’s disappointing to see WA Labor promise the Ellenbrook train line at the election in 2016 as fully funded and then not include it in its budget after the election. I want to help our community make this project a reality.”
Mr Porter said that a public swimming pool was also critical to the local community, with the nearest public swimming pool at least 20 minutes away.
“As a dad I really understand how important it is to teach our kids to swim. That’s why I’m fighting for a public swimming pool,” Mr Porter said.
“I also want to know what’s important to you, so head online, support these projects and let me know what other projects are important to you.”
