Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, today attended the Remembrance Day Service at Ellenbrook Independent Primary School (“Ellenbrook IPS”) and together with Principal Dr Neil MacNeill unveiled the commemorative plaque funded under the Liberal Government’s Armistice Grants Program.

Mr Porter said that the Armistice Grants Program was designed to deliver local projects and activities to commemorate Australia’s role in the First World War and pay tribute to service men and women and the Armistice Centenary.

“Commemorating this important date in our history is an integral part of the Anzac Centenary and Ellenbrook IPS has created a very fitting tribute to honour that legacy of remembrance,” he said.

“The Memorial Garden Plaque project, designed by Jeanette Metcalf, ensures our local community and younger generation know and respect the sacrifices that have ensured the freedoms they enjoy today.”

“It was an honour to take part in the unveiling of this plaque – lest we forget.”
