Pearce gets the GEN on aged care

Pearce families and businesses will benefit from a user-friendly website that provides interactive access to information and data on local aged care services and usage.

Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, says the unique GEN site breaks down details of each of the 73 aged care zones across Australia.

“The Liberal Government is committed to making life easier for older Australians, local businesses and community organisations,” said Mr Porter.

“Whether you’re an individual or a family looking for aged care information, or a company looking to develop care services, GEN is a new-generation internet tool.

“It will also benefit students, researchers and local governments, in fact, anyone or any group needing aged care data.”

Mr Porter said that local residents would appreciate the clear language and easy to understand infographics, which can be customised to individual needs.

The GEN website was created using extensive databases, including ABS and census data, collected from regional and metropolitan centres.

“Like many people, I am no computer whiz but even I find this website easy to use,” Mr Porter said.

“This is the first time that the information contained in this innovative tool has been stored in a central location and it will prove immensely useful for everyone.

“If you can’t find the information you need, there is also a simple function to request extra detail.”
