New NBN fixed wireless now available in Coondle West and Wundowie West

Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, has welcomed the activation of fixed wireless tower in Coondle West and Wundowie West, which will connect residents to fast, affordable broadband.

Mr Porter said the new sites will provide fast and affordable broadband to 190 homes and business in Coondle West and 110 homes and businesses in Wundowie West.

“Fixed wireless is the success story of the regional NBN roll out,” Mr Porter said.

“Fixed wireless has the highest satisfaction rating on the NBN and offers speeds of up to 50 megabits a second download and 20 megabits a second upload.

“This technology helps spur local businesses that employ local people.

“NBN recently announced the speed available on fixed wireless will double in many areas next year, offering downloads of up to 100 Mbps and uploads of up to 40 Mbps.

“Residents and businesses in Pearce can talk to retail broadband providers about the services available in their area and how to sign up.”

The regional roll out of the NBN is already more than two-thirds finished, with the fixed wireless network expected to be largely complete by the end of 2018.
