The Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, was out and about in Alkimos and Butler this week, as part of his regular Coffee with Christian program.
With about 20 people attending the two events, Mr Porter was able to answer concerns and discuss issues that the residents had on a broad range of subjects including:
changes to the disability support pension and age pension;
the introduction of Compulsory Third Party Insurance scheme in WA;
the impact of drug use on the community and the need to assist individuals and families affected by drug use;
local infrastructure and development, including roads, parking, public transport and boats;
support for innovation and new business ideas;
410 visa holders seeking permanent residency;
the Commonwealth budget and tax reform;
same sex marriage; and
voluntary euthanasia.
