Coffee with Christian in Alkimos and Butler

The Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, was out and about in Alkimos and Butler this week, as part of his regular Coffee with Christian program.

With about 20 people attending the two events, Mr Porter was able to answer concerns and discuss issues that the residents had on a broad range of subjects including:

•  changes to the disability support pension and age pension;

• the introduction of Compulsory Third Party Insurance scheme in WA;

• the impact of drug use on the community and the need to assist individuals and families affected by drug use;

• local infrastructure and development, including roads, parking, public transport and boats;

• support for innovation and new business ideas;

• 410 visa holders seeking permanent residency;

• the Commonwealth budget and tax reform;

• same sex marriage; and

• voluntary euthanasia.

 

“The Coffee with Christian program is a great way for people to come and have a casual coffee and a chat with me about the issues that really matter to them,” Mr Porter said.

“Doing this program as often as I can provides me with a great resource to represent the views of our community in Canberra and I encourage people to come along to one of my upcoming events.”

This week’s Coffee with Christian events were held at Sprout Hub Alkimos Beach in Alkimos and Dome in Butler.
