City of swan to get a double boost in Roads to recovery funding

Local streets and roads in the City of Swan will benefit from the Coalition Government’s Roads to Recovery Programme being doubled in 2015–16 to $2,421,109.

Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, said this is part of the Coalition’s Economic Action Strategy to invest in world-class productivity-enhancing infrastructure in Western Australia to create jobs, improve safety, reduce travel times and boost economic growth.

“This major injection of funding for local street and road priorities will create jobs, boost our local economy and make our roads safer for the whole community,” Mr Porter said.

“Doubling investment for 2015-16 epitomises the importance the Coalition places on local needs and building the infrastructure Australia needs from the local level up.

“Importantly, Roads to Recovery projects allows local councils to direct local road funding to where it is needed most.

“In the first year under the Coalition Government an unprecedented $952million was invested into road infrastructure in Pearce.

“Already in 2015 the Coalition has invested a further $281.13million in Pearce, bringing the total of road funding investment in our community to more than $1.233billion.

“This is a record achievement from any government to our local communities in Pearce and I will continue to work hard to build on this achievement for our community.”
