Community grants boost veteran health and wellbeing projects

Community grants boost veteran health and wellbeing projects.

Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, has congratulated the Ellenbrook & Districts Men’s Shed Association Incorporated on receiving a $21,784 grant under the Veteran and Community Grants program.

The Veteran and Community Grants program, administered by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs supports a range of community activities that promote healthy lifestyles for veterans, help veterans live independently at home and support carers.

“I congratulate the Ellenbrook & Districts Men’s Shed on its commitment to improving the lives of our local veteran community,” Mr Porter said.

“The dedication and hard work of organisations such as the Ellenbrook & District Men’s Shed provide veterans with an environment and place to go where they feel supported and it allows them to continue active roles in the Pearce community.”

Ex-service and community organisations, veteran groups and private organisations that contribute to the health and welfare of the veteran community are all eligible to apply for funding through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs’ Veteran and Community Grants program.

The Veteran and Community Grant received by the Ellenbrook & Districts Men’s Shed will be used to assist in the installation of a dust extraction system.
