Coffee with Christian in Yanchep

The Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, was in Yanchep on Thursday, 10 December 2015, as part of his regular Coffee with Christian program.

With over 30 people in attendance at the Bib’s Tuck Shop, Mr Porter was able to answer concerns and discuss issues that local residents has on a broad range of subjects including:

  • changes to the disability support pension and age pension;

  • social services expenditure;

  • self-funded retirees;

  • the NDIS;

  • the healthy welfare card;

  • local infrastructure and development;

  • small business initiatives and tax;

  • renewable energy; and

  • housing affordability.

“There was a solid turn out to the event from the Yanchep community and we enjoyed some robust discussions on a variety of topics,” Mr Porter said.

“I find that making myself available to the community through the Coffee with Christian program as often as I can, provides me with a great resource to represent the views of our community in Canberra.

“It also provides a relaxed way for people to come and have a casual coffee and a chat with me about the issues that really matter to them and I encourage people to come along to one of my upcoming events.”
