Safer streets delivered in Ellenbrook

Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, is pleased to announce that eight closed circuit television cameras have been installed and are now operational in the Ellenbrook Town Centre.

“Under the Safer Streets Programme the Coalition Government committed $250,000 towards CCTV cameras for the Ellenbrook Town Centre,” Mr Porter said.

“The investment in security infrastructure like these CCTV cameras is shown to be an effective crime prevention measure that provides significant deterrence to anti-social behaviour.

“The CCTV cameras increase fear of detection and apprehension on the part of an offender.

“Our community has a right to feel safe and secure and the installation of these CCTV cameras is one way to achieve it.

“I would like to recognise the City of Swan for the work they have done to ensure these CCTV cameras were installed to provide a safer physical environment for members of the public.”

The installation of the CCTV cameras in Ellenbrook is an example of how the Coalition Government has been investing in our local community.
