$5,000 investment in the Two Rocks Yanchep scout group

A re-elected Turnbull Coalition Team will invest $5,000 into the Two Rocks Yanchep Emergency Scout Group.

Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, made the announcement in Two Rocks today and said that this $5,000 grant would help the newly established Scout group with their set up costs, providing them with essential camping equipment, training and resources for weekly meetings.

As Emergency Scouts, the Two Rocks Yanchep Scout Group, run a junior cadet programme in tandem with the Scout programme so that from the age of 11 years their members will be introduced to the Two Rocks Volunteer Fire Brigade and will learn how it operates to serve the community. The group learn basic skills with regard to safety and fires, how the appliances function and elements of bushfire awareness. The group also develops communication skills, map reading/navigation and survival techniques.

“The purpose of creating a Scout group such as this one, that offers additional emergency service training, promotes community spirit while encouraging and developing leadership and service to the local community,” Mr Porter said.

“These young Scouts are the emergency volunteers of the future and by investing in projects such as this one, we are helping grow a more vibrant and viable community.

“The Turnbull Coalition Team is dedicated to building stronger communities across Australia.

A re-elected Turnbull Government will deliver jobs, growth and stronger communities.
