$126,000 investment for the Lancelin Skate and BMX Park

A re-elected Turnbull Coalition Team will invest $126,000 to upgrading the Lancelin Skate and BMX Park.

Federal Member for Pearce, Christian Porter, made the announcement in Lancelin today and said that upgrading the existing skate park’s facilities would better service the local community and visitors to Lancelin.

“This is an exciting announcement for the community and the youth in and around Lancelin,” Mr Porter said.

“The popularity of skateboarding, skating, scooting or BMX riding among young people today is extremely high and the demand for purpose built skate facilities is still growing strong.

“The existing Lancelin Skate and BMX Park is already very popular and an upgrade to the facility is required.

“A well designed, maintained and managed skate facility can be a catalyst for healthy community life in which people socialise, have fun, develop new skills and make new friends.

“Unlike organised sport, skating can provide an informal activity that requires minimum set up, expense and routine commitment.

“Organised sport isn’t for everyone and finding a sport that gets kids off the couch and keeps them active and healthy is extremely important – activities like skateboarding and BMX are such sports.

“The Turnbull Coalition Team is dedicated to building stronger communities across Australia.

“We understand that by investing in projects such as this one, we help grow a more vibrant and viable community.”

A re-elected Turnbull Government will deliver jobs, growth and stronger communities.
